Christmas and Me!
Those of you who were around when I was here the first time, probably remember that I love the Christmas season. Every aspect of it. I especially love the meaning of the season as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, and prepare for his return. I love to see the church decorated, to sing the Christmas hymns, and prepare for the family of God to come together.
But I also love the secular aspects of Christmas. From the outside and inside decorations, to the Christmas songs, yes including Rudolph and I'm dreaming of a white Christmas. I even love shopping and giving presents, and even wrapping them.
I attribute this all to my mother and all that she did to make Christmas special growing up in a poor home. When I was very young she would push me all around town in a special sled in order to see the yards that were decorated, and she treated each present as it was the most valuable present in the world. Her generosity was never lost on a small boy, even after I grew up.
so I am especially looking forward this year to spend the Christmas season with each of you. My theme for my Christmas Sermons this year will be the Christmas Touch. It is my prayer that each of you will feel that touch, as well as being willing to share that touch with those you come in contact with this year. Yours in Christ, Pastor Marvin
